Airports of Turkey:

There is a number of airports in Turkey, serving at both domestic and international levels. Besides all the facilities provided in all airports, Istanbul airport is the most facilitated with best runways, navigation towers while providing excellent services. Moreover, the Antalya Airport – AYT is the second-largest Airport of Turkey.

Istanbul Airports:

The two airports of Istanbul are titled as Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen Airport and Istanbul Ataturk Airport. Also on October 29, 2018, Istanbul's new Airport was opened. The date was specifically 29, as it was the 95th anniversary of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk. Airport was named after him, to commemorate the memory of the Turkish Republic by Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.

Especially, for the opening ceremony, the president of Turkey Tayyip Erdogan was personally present. At the same time, the first scheduled flight took place on October 31 to the Turkish capital Ankara. Moreover, the airport serves both domestic flights and international flights. In addition to this, It is also planned to move all current operations at Istanbul Atatürk Airport, or IST (currently the largest airport in Istanbul), to the newly opened airport, often referred to as ‘Istanbul New Airport’, on January 1st, 2019. It is being planned that New Airport will operate at a capacity of 150 million passengers.

Sabiha Gokcen Airport:

The Sabiha Gokcen Airport was named after a young girl Sabiha Gokcen, who was adopted by Ataturk and is an internally renowned pilot. Also, the airport is located on the Asian side of Istanbul. Although this airport is not the main entrance to the fabulous Istanbul still it’s a busy airport serving a large number of passengers daily. Moreover, the airport provides excellent facilities; hotels and restaurants. Especially, a wide range of shopping centers, stores, and small shops are located providing beautiful gifts, packed food items, diaries, etc.

On the other hand, the two British flights that fly to this airport are London’s Gatwick and Stansted respectively. Both airports have an extensive range of flights to this airport.

Istanbul Ataturk Airport :

Istanbul Ataturk airport is the main airport in Turkey and is considered as 14th busiest airport worldwide. On the contrary to Sabiha Gokcen Airport, Istanbul Ataturk airport is located on the western side of Turkey. Moreover, the airport was named after Ataturk in 1980 while it was first opened in 1924. The airport provides both domestic and international flights and inspiringly serves over 51 million passengers each year. Additionally, the airport provides excellent services, including stores, gift shops, and restaurants. The airport is huge and a number of conference halls and VIP lounges are made. Furthermore, the baggage wrapping, currency exchange, and Wi-Fi are also available at Airport.
