About the Opportunity
The finance transformation program is a truly global programme to transform Dentons' finance function into the business partnering function of the future. It will support the business by offering true business insight, efficient and effective processes while maintaining the necessary compliance and controls. The regional finance systems transformation team is responsible for the implementation of this programme into our 26 offices across Europe. The multi-disciplinary team is made up of subject matter experts from the Finance team as well as technical experts and consultants. The team is based across many of the Dentons Europe offices.
The role will work very closely with the Europe Finance Systems team and Finance department PMO as well as counterparts in other regions and the Global Transformation team.
This is a Europe wide role and the successful candidate is expected to work with all areas of the business to make sure that all proposed changes are aligned to business needs.
The role
The firm is undergoing a multi-year programme to replace its Practice Management System (PMS) and this role will be integral to that programme. The Test Lead will this role will provide leadership and take responsibility for ensuring all development tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance and issue tracking. The Test Lead will lead a team of 5 Test Analysts, therefore previous leadership experience in this role is essential. The successful candidate will direct the development of the test strategy, methodology, and framework; this will result in driving and directing the test team. Key to this role is working closely with the test team to make sure all testing is completed within the agreed deadlines, and according to the time, quality and cost criteria agreed.
- Producing the regional project test strategy and/or test approach
- Supervision and management of the testing team, ensuring all relevant test requirements are fulfilled.
- Responsible for gathering testing metrics and testing activities
- Ensuring key stakeholders and project team are fully appraised of testing activities
- Liaising with Global Test Lead to ensure we are operating to the Global testing principles and working with the most recent Global requirements.
- Provide leadership, support and technical expertise to the test team and the wider project team
- Providing regional test direction for the project
- Planning and managing all test stages for the project including co-ordination with external teams and attending project checkpoint meetings
- Needs be hands on when required with the ability to write and execute test scripts
- Defect management covering - tracking faults, fault investigations and triage of faults incorporating severity ratings
- Ensuring successful delivery and conclusion of all test activities to meet the project target date
- Ensuring proper traceability, version control and configuration management of all test objects developed
- Reporting issues and risks to the project team
- Working closely with other relevant teams such as project teams(regionally and globally) in Dentons Europe office to ensure that testing is completed for all relevant integrations and peripheral systems
- Communicating proactively to ensure that risks and issues are identified, noted and addressed.
Competencies:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field.
- Experienced test lead with an excellent understanding of structured test methods and processes
- Experience of working on large scale integration programmes
- Ability to design the approach and deliver SIT and multi user UAT
- Proven experience of balancing multiple priorities and dealing with ambiguity.
- Proven experience in creating and discharging complex test scripts and processes
- Implemented test case management platforms. Ideally Azure Devops Test Plan (or similar)
- A good understanding of Test Automation
- High level of business acumen
- Experience leading a successful testing team including remote members
- Collaborative and pragmatic, able to provide technical leadership and planning / estimates
- Practical experience and knowledge of business impacts that large scale transformations bring.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence stakeholders at different levels.
- Excellent level of business English
- Capabilities in German, Italian, Polish, Turkish would be an advantage
