The successful candidate will be responsible for performance testing of Kemp’s and Flowmon’s solutions.
Focus is on the performance testing of Kemp’s and Flowmon’s products deployed in complex environments as well as defining strategies to improve system capabilities, functionality, stability and customer experience in a wholistic fashion. There will be strong collaboration with Product Management to translate user requirements into functional specifications. The System Engineer will recommend and select systems, document recommended best practices and verify system functionality and performance. This position will act as a vital bridge between the Software Development and Product Management functions within the Ramp;D organization taking a holistic system view of new features, functions and capabilities.
The position is particularly suited to a talented engineer with strong product and systems engineering skills, who wishes to further develop their career in a vibrant, multidisciplinary and fast-moving Ramp;D environment.
Key Responsibilities:
· Responsibility for designing and execution of performances test for Kemp’s and Flowmon’s products (primarily Kemp Load Master, Flowmon Probe, Flowmon Collector in form of hardware and virtual appliance too).
· Creation of reports from executed performance tests (automated approach is preferred).
· Utilizes proven systems and scripting skills to execute on highly complex tasks related to hardware and software technology component analysis, integration, and incident and problem resolution.
· Researches and evaluates new technologies, hardware and software products to determine feasibility and desirability of incorporating their capabilities within the company's products.
· Assists in the formulation and execution of test plans for Proof of Concepts.
· Creation and review of quality specifications and technical design. documentation/requirements where applicable, to provide timely and meaningful feedback
· Staying up to date on new and relevant technologies, hardware, systems, platforms, architectures
· Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
· 3+ years’ experience with IT infrastructure
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical information into non-technical language for each of communication
· Deep appreciation and strong advocate of CX Customer Experience
· An enthusiasm amp; desire for learning new skills and technologies with the ability to adapt quickly
· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
· In-depth knowledge and experience with all the following:
· TCP/IP, HTTP, HTTPS, SSL
· Load-balancing and network performance technologies
· Experience with Virtualization techniques (VMWare, Hyper-V)
· Experience in Linux/Unix system administration and networking
· Experience in configuration and troubleshooting of complex networks
· Working knowledge of one or more software programming or scripting languages, ideally Bash/Python
· Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, take direction and collaborate well
· An appreciation of software QA methodologies, tools and processes
· Deep understanding of Systems, both Hardware and Software devices and platforms
· Production Scripting
· Working knowledge of Tools like Jira and Git.
Preferred Knowledge:
· Detailed knowledge and understanding of hardware specifications and operations (CPU, Memory, Disk, Networking)
· Experience with performance and/or security testing. (IXIA, Nessus, Qualys, etc)
· OS installation and troubleshooting
· Automation
