Job Description

People in Need is a non-governmental, non-profit organization founded on the ideals of humanism, freedom, equality and solidarity. The primary goal of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (HRD) is to support independent journalists, human rights activists and groups in countries with repressive regimes who are the target of persecution, harassment, or arrests because of their opinions or activities, and to strengthen civil society in countries that are going through democratic transformation.

The Latin American programme (Latam) is currently focusing on support of independent civil society in Cuba, Ecuador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Venezuela. The main programmatic focus includes capacity building for civil society organisations, journalists and support for their activities, direct aid to politically persecuted individuals and their families and international advocacy.
