Job Description

Mews is disrupting the hospitality industry with a cloud-based property management solution for hotels, hostels, apartments and more. The Mews Hospitality Cloud acts as a central nervous system for properties of all sizes from small independent hotels to large group brands. Over 1,600 brands across 60 countries run their hotel operations, booking, payments and guest management on Mews.

This position is leading the controlling team in our Prague HQ which is overseeing finance in multiple countries. The role has complex finance oversight with potential to grow further with the company.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring timely and accurate financial and managerial reporting for the Mews group
  • Managing structure of company reporting to provide clear and structured data to all internal and external stakeholders
  • Overseeing and streamlining controlling processes to ensure maximum efficiency of the team and continuous improvements towards real time closing
  • Monitoring company performance, driving cost controlling of the group and providing suggestions for financial decisions
  • Making sure that all budget holders have clear visibility and understanding of their budgets and there are appropriate controls of their spending in place
  • Making sure that there are relevant controls in place to ensure accurate accounting records
  • Preparation of consolidated IFRS financial statements in line with the latest standards
  • Serving as a main point of contact for audit and other internal/external stakeholders for financial reporting
  • Team planning, management and motivation

Requirements

  • Understanding of database and data visualization tools (PowerBI, Tableau)
  • 5+ years of experience with both accounting and controlling in finance with IFRS/US GAAP working experience
  • Detailed orientation in financial statements, budgets and managerial reports
  • Business acumen and ability to understand impact of business decisions on budgets and managerial reports
  • Ability to plan and proactively drive cost controlling
  • People management skills
  • Higher Education preferably in Economics/Hotel Management
  • Fluent English
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
