Job Location: Prague, Brussels or remote
Type of contract: full-time or part time, at least 80% (upon agreement)
Duration: Long-term cooperation (contract initially for 1 year)

This role is for a motivated and goal-oriented professional with proven experience in funding mechanisms of DG INTPA amp; DG NEAR, proposal development, and donor engagement.

As the global focal point for DG INTPA and DG NEAR, you will be responsible for expanding PIN’s global funding portfolio from these two institutions.

You would become a key member of the Institutional Fundraising Unit, part of the Knowledge and Learning Department, a dynamic team of technical advisors and specialists, focusing on high-quality program development and implementation. You will be offered unique exposure to a wide portfolio of PIN's work across humanitarian, early recovery, and development.

Your main responsibilities:

DG INTPA and DG NEAR donor engagement and intelligence (30%)

  • Act as a global focal point for DG INTPA and DG NEAR
  • Prepare PIN global DG INTPA and DG NEAR engagement strategies, in line with PIN Global Fundraising Strategy, Country Programme Strategies, and other PIN Strategies
  • Facilitate PIN global positioning towards DG INTPA and DG NEAR departments

Project design and proposal development (60%)

  • Upon request lead/write/review proposals for DG INTPA and DG NEAR, and potentially other institutional donors such as DG ECHO, USAID, FCDO, SDC, GAC, GFFO, UN, CHFs, CZDA, etc. and private foundations
  • Ensure proposed projects comply with donor requirements and PIN strategic priorities, coordinate with other PIN units, especially compliance
  • Coordinate required technical inputs with other PIN units (especially the Knowledge amp; Learning Department)
  • Lead and/or support partner negotiations including teaming and pre-bid agreements
  • Provide long-term support to specific Country programmes

Strategic and capacity development support (10%)

  • As a key member of the Institutional Fundraising Unit, you will actively participate in strategic team and departmental discussions, and support the Head of the Unit and management with relevant analysis and research
  • Provide capacity building of HQ and country-based staff on proposal development and donor positioning
Your profile:
  • Proven track record in leading competitive proposal processes and securing funding from DG INTPA and DG NEAR
  • Proven knowledge of DG INTPA and DG NEAR strategies
  • Experience working for international organizations or donor agencies
  • Experience in commercial contracts is an advantage
  • Excellent command of written and spoken English, other languages are an advantage (French, Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, etc.)
  • Ability to perform under time pressure, to manage multiple tasks, and to work independently and effectively in fast-paced, multicultural environments
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, coaching, and mentoring skills
  • Excellent communication, writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with an eye for proposal messaging, themes, proposal aesthetics, and content
  • Strong networking, representational, and negotiation skills
  • Have the ability to both coordinate different teams and participate in different team environments
