Job Description

People in Need, o.p.s. announces a vacancy for Junior Project Manager for the North Africa Programme of the Centre for Human Rights and Democracy (HRD).

The primary goal of People in Need's Centre for Human Rights and Democracy is to support independent individuals and groups in countries with repressive regimes who are the target of persecution, harassment, or arrests because of their opinions or activities, and to strengthen civil society in countries that are going through democratic transformation. We are now looking for a new colleague to join our team, who will primarily provide project and administrative support to the North Africa program team based in Prague.

Location: Prague
Starting date: As soon as possible
Type of contract: 0,5
Duration: one year (with the possibility of an extension, depending on funding)


TASKS amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Assisting in development, planning and implementation of projects, including project proposal writing, monitoring and reporting;
  • Administration of project documentation;
  • Close cooperation with the Project Manager for North Africa;
  • Cooperating with the Finance Manager on budgets for individual activities;
  • Regular contact with partner organizations and beneficiaries;
  • Drafting texts for social media and informative purposes;
  • Monitoring human rights development in Egypt and Libya.

Requirements

SUITABLE CANDIDATES SHOULD POSSESS:
  • University degree in a relevant field or a final years student;
  • Experience in a similar position is an advantage;
  • Proficiency in English at a very good level (daily communication with foreign colleagues), Arabic at least at a basic level, Czech is strongly recommended;
  • Is reliable and quick in his/her work, has initiative and can find tasks and solutions on his/her own;
  • Excellent organizational and communicational skills;
  • Ability to effectively manage time and handle multiple assignments;
  • Ability to work well under pressure and react quickly in emergency situations;
  • Conceptual thinking and reliability;
  • Proven ability to work both independently and as an effective team member.
