The indices are licensed to the world's largest issuers of financial products, capital owners, and asset managers as well as to more than 500 companies around the world and are used for financial products such as exchange-traded funds (ETFs), futures and options, but also for risk and performance measurement.

The Index Operations is responsible for the calculation, periodic review, and corporate action implementation for STOXX and DAX indices.

For our office in Prague, Czech Republic, we are looking for an Index Analyst to join the dynamic Index Surveillance amp; Monitoring team. The team is responsible for the configuration, calculation, and dissemination of all indices under Qontigo Index Management. The successful candidate will be involved in the launch of new indices, exchange feed monitoring, new rules definition based on client's requirements, and coordination of the automation processes with the IT department.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the correctness of daily index calculation for equity, fixed income, and strategy indices
  • Monitor configuration of indices to ensure that corporate actions adjustments for equities and periodic reviews of the STOXX and DAX indices are processed correctly
  • Supervise input data feeds according to exchange specifications, identify changes, and coordinate adjustments with IT
  • Perform regular research on different listed asset classes (equities, fixed income) and overall markets; or on several index-specific topics such as ownership research, audit-free float calculations, exchange calendars and static reference data
  • Provide subject matter expertise on index set-up and maintenance, markets impacts and anticipate market expectations
  • Enhance or suggest new tools, specify requirements for technical development and test new applications/tools from end to end

Requirements

  • Hold a University degree (bachelor) in finance, economics, business administration, mathematics, or IT related subjects
  • Have strong analytical and conceptual skills and know-how of financial markets
  • Experience and track record in the financial industry, index maintenance, or data analysis
  • Knowledge of MS Office applications; VBA, Python skills would be a plus
  • Have a solid command of written and verbal in English; knowledge of German, French, and Italian would be a strong advantage
  • Be a team-player, customer orientated attitude and the ability to act as a proactive, independent team player with a hands-on mentality
  • Be able to work under pressure and to handle multiple tasks time-efficient and autonomously in parallels and work on tight deadlines
  • Has strong organizational skills, capability to prioritize and follow established guidelines
